B2B - the next major wave of e-commerce
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 9/1/2000
Menlo Logistics' continuing studies of e-commerce logistics reveal that a single and typical consumer order (B2C) now triggers an average of 32 business-to-business (B2B) transactions.
Menlo, a worldwide logistics company, says B2B is not only the next major wave of e-commerce but it's growing at a far more rapid rate than B2C ever has.
"By the year 2003, B2B e-commerce will represent $1.3 trillion in annual sales-more than seven times sales in B2C," says Mark Federspiel, Menlo's e-commerce manager.
"By 2010, we're predicting that B2B will be larger than the current gross national product of the U.S."
