The changing role of value-added services
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 9/1/2001
A survey of Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) members reveals that value-added services (VAS) have become almost standard procedure in their operations. The 16-pg WERCwatch report, "Value-Added Services = Customer Expectations?" shows a picture of the changing role of VAS across the warehousing industry.
Members say that although they have been providing VAS for more than 4 years, they expect VAS will continue to increase over the next 12 months. Members also report that offering VAS has a positive impact on a company's revenue and profits.
