Dell's Mott to give keynote at SupplyWebExchange
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 10/1/2001
Next month, Dell Computer will detail how it uses supply chain information technology (IT) and Web-based capabilities to minimize risk, optimize profitability, and meet changing customer demand with only 5 days of on-hand inventory.
Randy Mott, senior vice president and chief information officer for Dell Computer, will give the opening keynote address, "Inventory Stifles Innovation," at SupplyWebExchange 2001 (www.supplywebexchange.com). The event takes place November 7-9 at the Chicago Marriott Downtown in Chicago, Ill.
He will explain how proactive collaborative systems can contribute to reduced on-hand inventory levels, finished goods, and other supply chain efficiencies that fuel the speed and integration necessary to become a global industry leader.
Mott will also outline how IT systems can support supply chain management in the retail and technology industries, enabling companies to overcome profit-damaging risks and focus more attention on innovation and delivering new and exciting products significantly ahead of the competition.
Over 400 senior IT and supply chain executives are expected to attend the event. And more than 50 major exhibitors will be featured.
