Wines age well in wire containers
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 10/2/2001
Since 1973, L. Mawby Vineyards has been producing fine wines. For more than a decade the Suttons Bay, Mich. wine producer has used collapsible, stackable wire containers for storing its sparkling wine products for their 1 to 4 year aging process. Five hundred bottles per container are stored for this aging period.
The containers, says Larry Mawby, vineyard owner, "are stackable when full. They collapse to one-quarter their volume when empty. They are easily cleaned and durable.
