Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 12/1/2001
Integrated Technologies Group's CEO D. Bruce Wise has been named winner of the 2002 Norman L. Cahners Award presented by the Material Handling Education Foundation. The award was made during the Material Handling Industry of America's annual meeting as part of its 25th year celebration of the Foundation.
The Cahners award is given to individuals and organizations that have promoted the materials handling industry and have supported the educational efforts of the Foundation. It is named for Norman L. Cahners, founder of Modern Materials Handling.
"Obviously I am humbled and thrilled to have been honored this way," says Wise. "I have believed in the work of the Educational Foundation for a number of years. We are a fast-growing industry, and anything I can do to help it, I will."
Wise served on the Foundation's board for 11 years and was instrumental in promoting the organization's scholarship program. During this period, the scholarships more than doubled the amount of money provided to students.
