ORBIS Corp. (www.orbispallets.com) has purchased Cookson Plastic Molding, the Latham, N.Y.-based subsidiary of Britain's Cookson Group. The acquisition will operate as the newly formed ORBIS Plastic Molding division.
Cookson manufactures structural foam pallets at plants in New York, Georgia, and Minnesota. The company is known for its heavy-duty plastic pallets and products that are approved for fire-resistance under Underwriter's Laboratory (UL) guidelines.
"We found them to be a high-quality company with a great reputation in the marketplace," said Dave Schopp, president and CEO of ORBIS. "Cookson brings us structural molding capabilities plus strength in the pharmaceutical and beverage markets."
Cookson's products will join the wide range of plastic containers, pallets and protective products manufactured by ORBIS, a subsidiary of Menasha Corp. ORBIS is headquartered in Oconomowoc, Wis.
