McHugh Software International, Inc. (888-624-8448, www.mchugh.com), a provider of real-time enterprise management solutions, introduced a suite of enhanced productivity management software tools that enables companies to drive unnecessary logistics costs out of their supply chains.
"Productivity management represents the best opportunity companies in the retail, consumer goods and 3PL industries have to drive millions of dollars to the bottom line," said Dan Gilmore, vice president of marketing at McHugh.
The productivity management solution includes an advanced productivity and resource planning module to reliably plan and report on labor and resource utilization across the DC, and identify best practice, preferred methods, and operational metrics for DC operations.
A second application interfaces with all picking and material handling systems to further optimize operations, regardless of the picking system deployed.
Finally, McHugh added new analytics capabilities. These provide a "scorecard" for management to measure operational performance with a wide range of activity-based costing and productivity data.
McHugh predicts that companies can realize 10-20% productivity. The company also announced a gain-sharing alternative to traditional software licensing fees for companies that want a more collaborative approach to working with their software vendor.
