Eskay becomes SK Daifuku
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 10/1/2002
After 12 years, automated materials handling systems supplier Eskay (www.eskay.com) is changing its name. The new name of the Salt Lake City, Utah, based company starting this month is SK Daifuku. Since its inception, the company has been a subsidiary of its Japanese parent, Daifuku Co. of Osaka, the third largest materials handling system supplier in the world.
"As Eskay has grown to be a major force in the North American market, it makes sense that customers understand that we are part of the Daifuku global family. There is no better way to do that than to add their name to the initials "S" and "K" which were the basis for our original name," says Dave Koch, president of the company. SK Daifuku's headquarters will remain in Salt Lake City, Utah where it recently opened a new office building that includes a state-of-the-art demonstration and training center.
