Executives to explain materials handling decisions at ProMat 2003
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 1/1/2003
Many times the reasons for a decision is best understood by those who made it. It's true in materials handling too. At ProMat 2003, the major materials handling showcase of the year, you will get a behind-the-scenes insight to major materials decisions at several leading companies.
The event's Executive Forum, set for Chicago's McCormick Place North on Feb. 10, will feature a tell-all session by executives as they explain the logic behind their recent decisions. Speakers will be from Modine Manufacturing Co., Big Lots, Inc., and The Gillette Co. They will discuss their strategies and results, from mastering material flow control and installing high-speed lines to enforcing process cycle-time reduction, inventory control, and six-sigma customer service. The session will be moderated by Sandy Towle, director, ARC Advisory Group.
In addition to the Executive Forum, there will be a full lineup of conferences complementing several hundred exhibitors during that week in February. According to the Material Handling Industry of America, sponsor of ProMat 2003, 61 percent of pre-registered attendees have indicated that they will be spending $100,000 to over $1,000,000 over the next 18 months. And 26 percent say they have purchasing plans of over $1,000,000 during that time. More than 40,000 attendees are expected.
