More than three-quarters of MMH readers say they plan to buy conveyor equipment in the next 18 months, according to an e-mail survey conducted by this magazine. Half of them are evaluating suppliers now, and a little more than a quarter are already buying. The rest are actively building preferred vendor lists or selecting suppliers. Most of that new equipment is planned for use in manufacturing facilities (64%), with 43% intended for DCs and 22% for warehouses. The most desired types of conveyor are: belt (56%), roller (47%), gravity flow (43%), and accumulation (41%).
