Spinning tube drives quiet conveyor

News from ProMat 2003

Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 3/1/2003

For a decade now, OCS IntelliTrak has produced the IntelliTrak, an overhead conveyor that's driven by a rotating tube. Trolleys hang from that tube, converting its spin to linear motion and carrying a load of 200 pounds per carrier. Now there's a new version—TransiTrak uses the same rotating tube drive technology to move up to 1,000 pounds per carrier, says OCS president and chief executive officer Charles Tabler. TransiTrak enables great flexibility, such as changing the speed of a carrier, diverting it off the main line, or stopping it at any point by flipping a single lever or applying fingertip pressure.
