WMS platform shows off its flexibility

-- Modern Materials Handling, 3/1/2003

Warehouse management systems are supposed to help operations professionals manage change. But that’s not always been the case. “Too often logistics software has not been flexible enough to be tailored to unique customer needs or change to meet future requirements,” says Dan Gilmore, marketing and strategy results leader at RedPrairie. A new supply chain execution technology platform, called RedPrairie Agent, allows users to draw from an extensive library of nearly 3,000 individual “agents,” which represent different logistics actions or processes addressed by RedPrairie’s warehouse, transportation and productivity management, supply chain visibility and collaboration tools. Users can combine and link those agents in limitless ways to meet their unique logistics processes.
