The Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) is gearing up for its 26th annual conference this month in San Francisco, California. From April 27 - 30, the conference will offer a variety of feature presentations and roundtable discussions on such topics as leveraging transportation systems within warehouse operations and developing customer-conscious logistics personnel.
Thirty topic sessions will cover systems, people, facilities, processes, strategies, metrics, relationships, value-added services, equipment and transportation. A presentation titled "What's In It For Me?" will highlight the ways several warehouse personnel have contributed to community organizations like America's Second Harvest. In addition, there will be tours of distribution centers, including Anheuser-Busch, Toys "R" Us, Safeway Inc., and Port of Oakland.
