Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 6/1/2003
The Material Handling Education Foundation (MHEF) has awarded $70,000 to 28 students at 13 universities. As a foundation of Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) , MHEF selects students each year who are dedicated to entering the materials handling and logistics fields.
The scholarship committee is comprised of members of the MHEF board, end users, the scholarship sponsors and members of the College-Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CIC-MHE).
One of the recipients this year is Kelli Simmelink of Kansas State University. She was awarded a $2,500 scholarship for the 2004-2005 school year. Modern Materials Handling is the sponsor of Simmelink's scholarship.
Simmelink, an industrial engineering major, participates in several academic organizations, including the Institute of Industrial Engineering Council and the Steel Ring Engineering honor society.
