Software in your future

Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 7/1/2003

Supply chain management software may be in the doldrums, but don't write it off. At least that's what our readers are telling us.

In a just released e-mail survey, 91% of the respondents said they plan to purchase or upgrade their supply chain software in the next 18 months. More than 350 people participated. On average, companies are planning to buy or improve three software applications.

Warehouse management systems were mentioned by 71%. Five other applications— order management, transportation management, supply chain planning, enterprise resource planning, and supply chain event management—are targeted by 30 to 37% of respondents.
