Manage shipments on a global basis

Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 7/1/2003

Unlike traditional transportation management software, G-Log's version 4.0 is a multi-mode shipment management tool that works with other key players in the supply chain on a global basis. It identifies and tracks not only what's available to ship by quantity, but rates tariffs and shipping costs across the world for all companies including freight forwarders involved in the transaction.

A single database is available to other companies in the supply chain, explains G-Log vice president Marybeth Roberts. The end result is lower shipping costs, complete control of shipments globally and total visibility of all inventory through the supply chain, resulting in more control of supply chain movement.
