The consolidation of the supply chain information technology space continues with the announcement that Danaher Corporation (www.danaher.com) will purchase Accu-Sort Systems, Inc. (www.accusort.com) for $63 million in cash plus other considerations.
"This acquisition will bring our company exceptional improvements in R&D, manufacturing and other operational processes," explains Ronald Wurz, president and CEO of Accu-Sort, a provider of bar code scanners, vision technology and radio frequency identification systems. Annual revenues are approximately $90 million.
The Accu-Sort acquisition will expand the footprint of Danaher's growing Product Identification Business Group. In the last two years, Danaher began offering coding and marking capabilities with the purchase of Willett, a provider of systems for labeling rigid and flexible packaging, and Videojet, which produces labeling systems.
With the Accu-Sort acquisition, Danaher will now also offer scanning, inspection, and reading capabilities to its customers.
