Planning software moves ahead

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 1/1/2004

Manufacturing companies striving for greater cost effectiveness are behind continuing growth in supply chain planning and collaboration software. In fact, the worldwide market cleared $1.9 billion in 2003. And between now and 2008, compound annual growth will be 2.8%, says a report from ARC Advisory Group (www.arcweb.com). Manufacturing companies account for nearly 85% of demand. Increased costs are forcing manufacturers to invest in this software, which makes internal processes and supply chain activities more efficient.
