Optum buys V3
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 4/1/2004
The world of supply chain software continues to consolidate with Optum's acquisition of V3 Systems. The move extends Optum's supply chain capabilities to Microsoft environments with particular emphasis on small warehouses. Price of the all-stock transaction was undisclosed.
"Acquiring V3 Systems arms us with additional solutions that take the pain and guesswork out of supply chain management," says David Simbari, president and CEO of Optum. "Optum is the only provider that gives companies closed-loop command and control over their entire supply networks to obliterate waste, maximize revenue and gain a competitive advantage."
Optum plans to add its newly acquired technology to its just released Supply Chain Solution Sets. These quick-to-deploy packages address specific areas such as reverse logistics, contract manufacturing and supplier enablement, to name three. There are seven Solution Sets in all, each priced at approximately $150,000.
