Siemens Dematic introduces new warehouse control system

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 5/1/2004

Siemens Dematic has introduced a new warehouse control system (WCS) software module. The new WCS is aimed at unit handling systems for product unitized on pallets and flowing through an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS).

This relatively new layer of software sits between a warehouse management system (WMS) or manufacturing execution system and the controls, drives and sensors at the machine level. The module optimizes the movement and storage of materials by integrating subsystems for automated and manual materials handling processes in warehousing, distribution and various production environments.
