A new voice-based wireless computer from Voxware (609-514-4100, www.voxware.com) enables users to perform virtually any task from sign-on to application selection to work assignments simply by speaking.

The wearable computer, which features a fast 400 mghz processor, is entirely voice-driven. The unit has just one button, for turning the computer on and off. All other commands and instructions are activated by voice.

"With this announcement, we are delivering significant new capabilities to our customers while at the same time positioning Voxware to scale its business," said Tom Drury, Voxware's CEO. "The VLS-410 packs more onboard memory and a faster processor than other systems, and it manages power more effectively."

In addition to fast processing speeds, Drury said the unit's power-management system can provide up to 12 hours of battery life—enough for a worker to complete a shift plus four hours of overtime before recharging the unit.
