Three new RFID solutions for current mandates
Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 7/1/2004
Venture Research Inc. (866-734-3111, www.ventureresearch.com) introduced three new radio frequency identification (RFID) infrastructure products for companies about to implement RFID compliance programs to meet retail and government mandates.
"We're about to transition from pilot into production," said John E. Baker, president. "That's going to require an infrastructure of RFID reader portals, conveyor tunnels and workstations that are rugged enough for production and scalable and repeatable enough to be deployed across an entire facility."
The company's new products include:
- Ruggedized RFID portals that are designed to protect expensive readers at dock doors, where reader components might be exposed to the elements or risk damage from lift truck equipment.
- RFID conveyor tunnels that are designed to read cartons, containers and pallets on high-speed conveyor systems.
- RFID tag write/verify workstations that provide a complete turnkey solution to print, verify and apply RFID tags for cases and pallets that comply with Wal-Mart mandates.
All three solutions are scalable and repeatable across a DC or factory. Venture Research also offers 24/7 support for all three systems.
