Craig Harmon on RFID

Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 7/1/2004

EPCglobal (www.epcglobalinc.org) may soon have a standard for UHF Gen 2, the next generation RFID tag for supply chain applications.

But Craig K. Harmon, CEO of Q.E.D. Systems (www.qed.org), and a veteran of previous standards initiatives, says that's only the first step. There will still be FCC and ISO issues to be addressed before RFID truly takes off in the supply chain. To keep up with what Harmon and others have to say about tag standards and other RFID issues, subscribe to Modern's monthly e-letter "RFID Alert."
