Nonpartisan platforms at Democratic/Republican conventions

-- Modern Materials Handling, 8/1/2004

Believe it or not, the Democrats and Republicans do agree on at least one point. Both parties are using platforms built by mezzanine manufacturer W.A. Schmidt Inc. (www.waschmidt.com) for their conventions.

For the Democrats last month in Boston, Schmidt built a modular 49,000 square foot outdoor mezzanine. It provided the media, technicians and other personnel access to upper levels of the Fleet Center.

Platforms by W.A. Schmidt A mezzanine for the Republican’s Madison Square Garden convention this month will expand the floor space over an ice rink by 30,000 square feet. Smaller mezzanines will also be erected for cameras.
