Swisslog completes divestment

With the sale of its Transnorm conveyor group, Swisslog (www.swisslog.com) has completed the sell off of its materials handling equipment divisions. Transnorm was sold to a private equity group called NORD Holding with headquarters in Harsum, Germany. Subsidiaries are in Germany, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and Grand Prairie, Texas (www.transnorm.com).
Three other divisions were sold since the divestment program started in March 2003. Those subsidiaries are: Shierholz (conveyors, monorail, power-and-free), Translift (monorail) and Cimcorp Oy (robotics).
In the U.S., Swisslog retains two division for manufacturing and distribution. Warehouse & Distribution Solutions is a system integrator of distribution systems that subcontracts materials handling systems and offers its own software. Consulting Services focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes.
