By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 10/1/2004
Now's the time to start your planning for ProMat 2005 set for Chicago's McCormick Place January 10 - 13. And that's especially true if you're looking for some great tips on how to successfully plan major capital investments in plants and warehouses.
For three days, Richard Muther and Lee Hales of Richard Muther Assoc., along with Mike Jones of the St. Onge Co., will offer a detailed, hands-on classroom course on strategic planning.
The first day of the course, Jan. 12, focuses on supply chain strategy, network analysis, layout planning and a systematic handling analysis. That will be followed by a day focused on how to integrate the major components of your facility with special attention to estimating capacity and space requirements as well as master site planning. The course wraps up with presentations and evaluations of alternate plans, key decisions and guided applications of systematic planning.
For more information about the course, which will earn you 2.5 Continuing Education Credits, visit www.promat2005.org.
