Fight fire with Sapphire

Even if a warehouse or plant fire is contained and put out quickly, whatever survives can still be a total loss due to water damage. That's where chemical agents come into the picture. And the latest entry is called Sapphire Suppression System from Tyco.

The suppressant is said to "chemically interfere with the fire combustion process, therefore bringing it to a halt."

Furthermore, Sapphire fights fires without damaging items. Sapphire "not only eliminates the issue of massive water damage but also greatly reduces actual fire damage by suppressing a fire in the pre-combustion stage," says Dave Pelton, director, marketing, Tyco Fire & Security.
