New information source formed to analyze propane for lift trucks

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 1/1/2005

Out with the old, in with the new. It's not just the story of the new year, but of developments at the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC).

In a series of moves, the Propane Vehicle Council was disbanded and the Engine Fuel Coordinating Committee (EFCC) created and made a part of PERC. Brian Feehan, who served as executive director of the Propane Vehicle Council, is now managing director of EFCC.

"We can now focus more resources on the engine fuel market and specifically industrial trucks rather than duplicating in some part the efforts of PERC," says Feehan. PERC was created by an act of Congress in 1996 to promote the safe use of propane as an energy source. The EFCC will now be the primary interface between the propane industry and industrial truck markets.

"This will also be important to end users of lift trucks," adds Feehan. "There will be more educational materials about propane and more interaction."
