System separates RFID tags and bar codes

The Product Traceability System combines ink jet printing with RFID labeling to identify cases. The RFID tag is not embedded in the bar code label, unlike other systems. Instead, the system allows the bar code to be printed at the most advantageous location on the case as the RFID tag is applied to the best location for reading it. In addition, bad bar code and RFID tag reads are eliminated.
