Adding RFID to pallets Pallet pools would seem like a natural for RFID tags.
CHEP, one of the leading providers of pallet management programs, has been working with the technology since 1998.
Initially, CHEP was looking at RFID to provide internal benefits. By embedding an RFID tag in its pallets, the thinking went, CHEP would know exactly how long a pallet had been in the supply chain, which would lead to more accurate billing. Britain establishes national RFID center Britain is also asking where the RFID puck is going next. The UK recently opened a new National RFID Centre in West Yorkshire, that has both regional sponsorship and backing from the government’s Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The center is the result of a study last year. In the middle of 2004, the DTI sent a group of businessmen and academics to visit thousands of businesses and organizations to see what their vision was for electronics across the UK over the next 20 years. ...More>>>
