Web site targets crane specification
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 3/1/2005
At ProMat, Gorbel Inc. (www.gorbel.com) introduced a Web site that functions as an online resource for engineers and architects researching and specifying overhead crane solutions. Jeff McNeil, marketing manager, said the site overcomes the "fragmented" nature of information resources that usually need to be navigated during the specification process.
"This site supports [engineers and architects] all the way from initial inquiry through to an actual project," says McNeil.
"It's not just a bid specification site. It provides information on product selection, ergonomics, [project] specification, and can give loading calculations, access to drawings, and even pricing."
The site, launched in January, is reachable via Gorbel's Web site. "The site brings together information that traditionally would have been much harder to gather," he says.
