CeMAT steps out on its own
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 3/1/2005
Deutsche Messe AG and Hannover Fairs have announced that CeMAT will now be its own show.
The materials handling show, held every three years and running from Oct. 11 – 15, 2005 in Hannover, Germany, expects to have 1,000 exhibitors and a display area of 860,000 square feet.
With the enlargement of the European Union, Germany is now the geographic center of Europe and expects to draw more European countries. CeMAT and Deutsche Messe are coordinating with the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) to include more American companies as well.
"Because business is going global, we need to act globally, but still think locally as well," said Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president, Deutsche Messe AG. In this vein, Deutsche Messe has announced that it will be presenting a new tradeshow in 2005, CeMAT Asia, to take place in November, in Shanghai, China.
