New monorail standards available

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 4/1/2005

Two monorail standards approved by the American National Standards (ANSI) in October 2003 are now available free of charge.

The Monorail Manufacturers Association (MMA), a subsidiary of Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), sponsored the standards in the interest of improved uniformity of patented rack and enclosed track underhung crane and monorail performance and public safety. The standards were later subjected to the ANSI Canvass Review and approved as ANSI Standards.

Specifications for Patented Track Underhung Cranes and Monorail Systems and Specifications for Enclosed Track Underhung Cranes and Monorail Systems can be accessed by visiting MHIA's Web site at www.mhia.org.
