Toyota, BT – one entity

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 5/1/2005

After five years of autonomous operation despite singular ownership, lift truck suppliers Toyota and BT Industries Group have created a single global organization—Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG)—with one joint management structure and global leadership.

"The purpose of the new governance is to better serve customers and to achieve even higher levels of performance," says Tetsuro Toyoda, president of Toyota Materials Handling Corp. (TMHC) and executive vice president of Toyota Industries Corp.

TMHG will retain the company's existing brand names. The new entity already commands a 25% share in the international lift truck market, according to the company.
