New generation of drives debuts

In an expansion of its line of harmonized drives, Baldor has introduced the next generation—the H2. They can be used with servo, vector and inverter motors, according to Randy Breaux, vice president of marketing, who made the announcement in a press conference with Modern.
He describes the new drives as high performance, reliable and easy to use. These harmonized drives act and feel the same regardless of the voltage, power rating and performance level of the application. In addition, they can be monitored from anywhere using Ethernet connectivity, says Breaux.
In materials handling, the H2 will be utilized primarily with vector motors that are used for constant torque and precise positioning. Equipment here includes conveyors and automated storage systems.
In addition, H2 drives, says Breaux, are easy to program with a common language. The family of drives shares identical operator control, field installed options, programming style, operating characteristics and environmental compatibility.
The keypad also simplifies operating, programming and monitoring the drives. In addition, any H2 drive can be operated in all power ranges using the keypad.
