Recognizing the growing importance of supply chain management, APICS has created a new certification recognizing expertise in the field.

The Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) title recognizes individuals for extending their supply chain management skills and for those involved with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The new certification will be earned through e-learning, self-directed study courses and classroom education.

"The CSCP designation validates a unique skill set and reflects the expanding role that supply chain management plays in today's increasingly competitive global marketplace," says APICS president Thomas J. Krupka. Since 1974, 80,000 have earned APICS certifications.
