Jungheinrich focuses on U.S. market

Traditionally serving the European market, Jungheinrich has made a splash by offering a typically American lift truck.
Building on the specifications of the EKS 310 that made the company a major player in Europe, the supplier has introduced the EKS 314 to America.
Virtually identical in every way to its European cousin, Jungheinrich's North American release retains one marked difference. The 314 model features a free-standing platform and "super clearview mast," that increases flexibility and efficiency when orderpicking from racking systems. The European version is strictly enclosed.
"The unit is operated much more quickly when operators are unrestricted," says Kay Middleton, marketing manager for the German brand. "Not only can you lean much further, you can dismount very quickly. Safety regulations don't constrict you."
The unit also features AC power. A regenerative lowering and braking design feeds energy back into the truck supply system prolonging in use operation cycles and reducing the time needed to recharge batteries. Energy costs are lower, and the overall cost of ownership is significantly reduced.
The EKS 314 truck handles loads up to 3,000 pounds, reaches travel speeds up to 6 miles per hour and lift speeds of 72 feet per minute. The truck has a maximum picking height of 32 feet.
