INTHER introduces two paperless picking solutions

INTHER Integrated Systems (Booth 1219) introduced two new paperless picking solutions. The company's new pick-to-light cart combines batch-picking efficiencies with pick-to-light simplicity, speed and efficiency.
With use of the new cart and a minimal amount of training, a worker can fill multiple orders with one pass through a pick zone. And, the pick path can be optimized for the picker, ensuring the highest level of efficiency. The carts are constructed of aluminum for strength and durability and can be used for other operations in the warehouse, such as consolidation, quality control and shipping areas. In addition, INTHER, in partnership with Top Systems, developed a pick-by-voice speech recognition solution. This hands-free, eyes-free system is based on voice recognition procedures for paperless processes in warehouses and production facilities. "What's unique about our system is that it is hardware independent and uses human voices," said Mareceline Absil, INTHER vice president. "The end user can choose from a variety of male and female voices, which is important for maintaining user satisfaction for an extended period. It's very important to use a voice that will keep the user happy." The VOXter, which is used in combination with the speech recognition solution, is a solid, portable dedicated voice computer, operating on Microsoft Windows Mobile 2005 for Pocket PC. The machine weighs less than nine ounces and allows the use of speech-based data input and output, which maximizes productivity while achieving the highest level of accuracy in data capturing and transmission.
