By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 3/30/2006
Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) will be leading a group of U.S. manufacturers to exhibit in the MHIA Pavilion at CeMAT Asia 2006, which will run October 10-13 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in China.
"There are incredible business opportunities overseas, especially in China where analysts are forecasting annual growth of about 15%," said Hal Vandiver, MHIA executive vice president of business development. "CeMAT Asia 2006 is the perfect place to capitalize on this opportunity."CeMAT Asia was launched in 2000 and included 93 exhibitors. By 2005, 274 exhibitors participated, and more than 300 are expected in 2006. It's the fastest growing materials event in Asia and will cover every segment of materials handling and logistics industry. CeMAT Asia 2006 is organized by Hannover, Germany-based Deutsche Messe AG, Hannover Fairs China Ltd. and the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing. The MHIA Pavilion will be organized by Hannover Fairs USA."After China, the U.S. will represent the largest group of exhibiting companies," said John Nofsinger, MHIA CEO. "Many MHIA members exhibit at CeMAT Asia either directly or through partners in the region. MHIA will use CeMAT Asia to continue to develop the important industry relationships between China and the U.S. that will influence trade in the years to come."The role of MHIA is to support U.S. companies doing business in foreign countries and provide the tools they'll need to succeed, especially when it comes to overcoming language barriers and understanding cultural differences. CeMAT Asia is certified under the U.S. Department of Commerce's Trade Fair Certification Program and will offer exhibiting companies trade counseling and export promotion support from the U.S. Embassy in Shanghai. If you're interested in attending or exhibiting at CeMAT Asia, contact MHIA CEO John Nofsinger at (704) 676-1190 or jnofsinger@mhia.org.
