HighJump introduces labor management

NA2006 eShow Daily

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 3/30/2006

Labor management systems that measure the real-time performance of workers on the floor are no longer just for the largest warehouses with 200 or more employees, said Chris Heim, president and general manager of HighJump Software (Booth 1632).

"As we have begun working with customers, we believe you can see the same percentage of improvements in the performance of your workforce with 50 to 100 workers," Heim said yesterday when HighJump unveiled a new labor management system.

In fact, the development of a labor management product was driven by HighJump's existing customers. "What we're seeing is a different customer today," Heim said. "Instead of trying to solve all of their problems at once, they're installing a WMS to get a 25% improvement in performance. After that, they're asking where is the next place we can improve operations. That becomes labor."

The labor management system was designed to meet the needs of customers with complex labor tracking requirements and to integrate with HighJump's existing suite of solutions, including warehouse management. The system compiles real-time performance data to enable customers to plan and measure labor activities throughout their distribution facility. That same information can be used for real-time access and analysis for performance statistics. "Users can drill down to department/shift/individual activity over time to spot trends and understand the root data used for statistics," Heim said.

Users can select among discrete, historical or engineered labor standards to measure employee performance.
