Pepperl +Fuchs' (Booth 925) acquisition of the PosiTrack Positioning System brings fraction-of-a-millimeter position feedback to a range of industrial and commercial applications.
The PosiTrack Positioning System is a linear absolute encoding system. Applications of the system include overhead monorails, gantry cranes, automated warehouses, elevators and theater stage lighting systems. PosiTrack can be custom fit and retrofit to suit the demands of a variety of workplace needs.This is a contact-free tracking system that enables precise floor/cab zone positioning without the mechanical wear, linkages and slippage. Data is directly related to the movement, not interpreted. All types of PosiTrack code rail, stainless and fiber-laminated, can be horizontally curved with no affect on the accuracy. "We acquired this technology last year and spent months bringing the system in line with company requirements and maintaining its current customer base," Marcel Ulrich, Pepperl+Fuchs product manager, said.
