CIBER offers supply chain advice and music trivia

Crowds of show attendees have gathered this week around the booth of systems integrator CIBER (Booth 837) to play the company's rock 'n roll trivia challenge.
Marketing manager Rachel Randash said the company uses the trivia game at all its trade shows and tailors the questions to the city hosting the show. And since Cleveland is home of the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, this week's trivia game is—naturally—rock 'n roll. "It just helps to relax the atmosphere," Randash said of the game. "It's been fun." Attendees have also been stopping by the booth this week to discuss specific supply chain challenges, said supply chain practice director Nate Rosier. He said CIBER is particularly qualified to help companies in the automotive, publishing, and wine and spirits industries. "It's almost taking traditional consulting and turning it around," he said, explaining that CIBER has deep knowledge of a few specific industries and works with a variety of software suppliers. By contrast, most consultants are intimately familiar with a few pieces of software, but don't initially know much about their clients' industries, he said. Rosier and his colleague Bob Dickey said the company provides a wider array of services than most consulting firms, from preliminary analysis to software and hardware selection to installing equipment and training employees. "We're not afraid, to get in there and get our hands dirty," Dickey said.
