Focus on cubing and weighing

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 8/1/2005

Cubing solution accurate, portable

The CubiScan 150 has a large maximum measurement range and a net weight capacity of 150 pounds. The unit is precise, and has a measurement resolution of 0.2 inches and weight resolution of 0.2 pounds. The system is mounted on locking casters, allowing operation in a fixed position as well as ease of movement if necessary. Accessories include label printers, PC interface workstations, storage shelves and several bar code scanning solution options. Each unit has two active serial communication ports, one serial printer port with flow control, and includes an Ethernet port, allowing for network connection and remote diagnostics.

High accuracy scale

An industrial checkweigher uses variable capacitance technology, making it ideal for inventory control, packaging and materials handling applications requiring high accuracy and resolution. The system offers a full range of capacities and a database that allows long-term storage of up to 1,800 part numbers with their associated low, target and high average piece weight. The optional relay box is optically isolated and provides three outputs and two digital inputs. The optional light tree provides compact visible indication.

Overhead scale

The 0990 monorail scale is a complete weighing assembly that can be installed as part of a new or existing transport system. The overhead track scale is ideal for operations that use an overhead rail to transport product. The weighing unit is a section of industry-standard rail supported by two load cells. Accommodating weights up to 1,250 pounds, the scale is self-contained with no check rods to adjust.

Light industrial scale

The DIGI Summit 3000 is designed for light industrial applications. It employs a rugged, low profile design to deliver efficient installation and operation. A top-access junction box is housed in a durable ABS enclosure and is protected from fork trucks and other industrial abuse by the systems diamond treadplate steel deck. The scale has fully adjustable, rigid polyurethane rubber feet to accommodate weighing on uneven surfaces.

Weigh on the go

Designed for in-motion weighing of discrete packaged product weighing from a few grams up to 20 pounds, the TSC 350 checkweigher operates at conveyor speeds up to 300 feet per minute, and production rates as high as 350 units per minute. The system utilizes either two or three strand Nylatron flat-link chain to convey product across the weighing portion of the system. It is restricted to weighing rigid packages, such as cartons, bottles or tubs.

Customized weighing

Capacities range from 30 to 500 pounds while deck sizes of 14, 18, 20 and 24 inches are available for the Diamond Series bench scales. The scales are available in either stainless or carbon steel and are rugged with overload stops to protect scale from excessive loads or dropped objects. The single weigh bar design with no moving parts provides for low maintenance. An optional ball-top shroud keeps product moving and reduces operator lifting and bending. A portable cart makes the solution dynamic.

Lift trucks as mobile checkweighers

The LFC Series SkidWeigh Plus can be installed on any large capacity lift truck in order to convert it into a mobile check weighing scale. When the operator activates the "W" key and the load is picked up, the hydraulic pressure on the lift truck is automatically activated and converted to a weight measurement and presented to the operator visually via an LCD display of 2 lines by 16 characters. In addition to its check weighing capability, the system allows the operator to enter the waybill number, accumulate load weights under designated waybills, and enter tare value into the system to obtain printout tickets if the on-board printer is connected to the monitor.

Harsh environment checkweigher

The FS series of checkweighing scales provides extensive weighing features in a robust, waterproof and dustproof construction. The scales are versatile and portable, and include advanced software for three weighing modes. System features include a built-in comparator function and a stainless steel, tilting display head, and is battery powered with optional AC operation.

Light-weight lift truck scale

While other models rely on sheer bulk for strength, the MSI-3700 Magnum Plus lift truck scale uses advanced design to deliver a unique set of benefits. Magnum Plus reduces lift truck lifting capacity loss with an attachment that is lighter and narrower. At 165 pounds, Magnum Plus is the lightest lift truck scale available. The single load cell system is simple to calibrate and maintain. It eliminates problems associated with multiple load cells, which often must be adjusted. Excessive loads never reach the load cell because it is guarded by a double-protection system.
