Shippers seeking light, durable and easily tracked pallets have a new option. Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS) now rents plastic pallets enabled with RFID technology to track shipments in real time.

Industry veteran Bob Moore, who spent seven years as CEO of wood pallet pool supplier CHEP International, launched the company last month with initial plans to target consumer electronics and pharmaceutical suppliers.

According to the company, iGPS will be the only large-scale outside pallet supply service to provide radio RFID in every pallet.
