Dorner introduces sanitary conveyors
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 9/1/2006
Cleanliness is crucial for manufacturers of medical, pharmaceutical and food products. A line of belt conveyors from Dorner Manufacturing is designed to meet the stringent sanitary needs of these industries.
The AquaPruf 7600 series features urethane-encased belts that won't fray at the edges and won't absorb water, preventing the growth of mold on the belt.
The entire conveying system can be disassembled for easy and thorough cleaning in less than a minute, without tools. The system is designed to withstand high pressure washings with water, bleach and other cleaning products without the worry of bearings or other components corroding.
The stainless steel frames are welded, rather than bolted, and include few horizontal surfaces. This construction provides few places for food particles to collect, for water to pool or for bacteria to hide.
The 7600 series is available in straight and curve designs, in widths from 6 to 60 inches and in lengths from 3 to 40 feet. All Dorner conveyors are built to order and usually ship in 10 to 12 days.
Dorner introduced its AquaPruf brand in 2003 with the 7200 and 7300 series. The company launched its 7400 series in 2005. The new 7600 series is the only AquaPruf series suitable for conveying all types of food, including raw bakery, meat and dairy products.
