Software giant SAP has made a minority investment in manufacturing execution system (MES) supplier Visiprise. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.
The deal is SAP’s third such investment since May, when the company established its SAP NetWeaver Fund. The $125 million fund focuses on strategic investments in companies building software based on the SAP NetWeaver platform.
"The SAP ecosystem continues to gain momentum and the establishment of the SAP NetWeaver Fund further underscores our dedication to co-innovation and driving real customer value with partners," says Jim Mackey, head of corporate finance for SAP. "We're pleased to make this investment and look forward to continuing co-innovation with Visiprise for the benefit of our mutual customers."
According to the company, Visiprise has more than 200 worldwide customers in such industries as aerospace, electronics, automotive and medical device manufacturing. Visiprise software helps customers plan, define, control, execute and analyze manufacturing operations in a single environment to integrate with existing enterprise applications.
