Returnable foam dunnage inserts

TransGuard stand-alone returnable dunnage systems reduce wasted freight space. Each tray is customized to meet the height and interior configuration requirements of the products contained within during transport and storage. The customization process results in increased shipment yield and part protection for maximum profitability. The system is available as complete returnables, interior dunnage or bulk bin inserts to fit standard 48 x 45 inch bulk bins. Dunnage is made of expanded polypropylene molded foam designs for increased durability and cost-effectiveness. The foam is recyclable. Tegrant Corp. (formerly SCA Packaging NA), 800-289-9966, www.scapackaging.alloyd.com.

Cut dock shock

Providing a smooth transition from the warehouse floor to the trailer bed, the redesigned RHV-4000 vertical storing hydraulic dock leveler minimizes potential injuries and product and equipment damage at the loading dock from dock shock. Dock shock is the jarring that occurs when a lift truck crosses between the warehouse floor and the trailer bed due to the bumps and gaps on traditional vertical-storing levelers. The leveler allows the overhead dock doors to close down to the pit floor for humidity and temperature control. Rite-Hite Corporation, 800-456-0600, www.ritehite.com.

Counterbalanced lift truck with multi-system control

The SC 4500 series sit-down counterbalanced lift truck has a comprehensive system control that monitors and controls all systems on the truck to ensure performance and reliability. An intrinsic stability system monitors the truck's direction, speed, wheel angle, fork position and load weight. A new braking system reduces maintenance costs by eliminating adjustments, fluid leaks and other wearable parts. The system leverages the torque of the AC motors with other integrated systems, replacing traditional maintenance-intensive brakes and providing variable motor braking and an automatic parking brake. The InfoPoint system delivers faster service and troubleshooting with quick reference guides and on-truck component maps. Crown Equipment Corporation, 419-629-2311, www.crown.com.

Hinged container panel offers easy access to contents

For fast, ergonomic order picking and assembly operations, the P-333 Ship Shape bulk container features an optional hinged panel that may be sealed for secure lifting and transportation. The panel permits quick visual inspection of contents without requiring removal of the container's cover. The reusable container accommodates up to 700 pounds on a 44 x 44 inch footprint. It may be stacked two-high when covered, and nests when empty for storage and return shipments. A range of standard and custom colors, industrial strength casters and custom options are available. Imaging system identifies pallet tags in high racking

The Vantage Point color imaging system makes pallet tag identification quick and easy for lift truck operators working with high racking. For increased productivity and accuracy in warehouse operations, the system is an available option on new or retrofitted series 7000 reach-fork and deep-reach trucks and on EASi reach-fork and deep-reach trucks. It consists of a waterproof, high-resolution camera mounted below the truck carriage and a color monitor affixed to the operator compartment. The monitor provides a 52-degree view up, down, left and right. Raymond Corporation, 800-235-7200, www.raymondcorp.com.

Print labels for cold storage

Operating in temperatures to –20F, the Frig-Id cold storage labeling system laser prints labels in large and small quantities. The labels are pre-cut in three sizes on standard 8.5 x 11 inch sheets and feature a permanent adhesive system that sticks more aggressively as temperatures drop below freezing. Lo-Temp magnets are included as an optional, moveable surface for affixing the labels. The standard kit includes 25 magnets, an ample supply of labels and printing instructions. Aigner Index, 800-242-3919, www.aignerindex.com.

Lift table achieves 1 million cycles

The One Million Cycle lift table was designed for automated machine feeding or off-loading applications that accumulate cycles very quickly. This high-cycle lift table, with a clean, simple design and enhanced features, is warranteed for 1 million cycles. Advance Lifts, 800-843-3625, www.advancelifts.com.

Supply chain software integrates with Microsoft ERP system

The Supply Chain Advantage software suite now integrates with Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, allowing for faster implementation times. The integration, which was developed with Columbus IT, allows a real-time, seamless information exchange between the two systems. The information exchange allows you to unify business processes across warehouse and back office operations. The comprehensive set of standard transactions includes adjustments, customer returns, purchase order processing, order fulfillment, quality holds as well as cycle counting. HighJump Software, a 3M company, 800-328-3271, www.highjump.com.

Stackers handle up to 3,000 pounds

Battery-powered electric stackers lift, transport and position loads weighing up to 3,000 pounds. Designed to handle any type of pallet or skid, the stackers, which lift loads to 80 inches, are available in two configurations. The fork-over design, with standard fork lengths of 45 inches, works with any type of open-bottom pallet or skid. The straddle style, with standard fork lengths of 42 inches, accommodates any pallet or skid—even those with closed bottoms. The stackers have an ergonomically contoured pallet-truck-style handle, a high-visibility mast, and dual-wheel casters with toe guards. Southworth Products, 207-878-0700, www.southworthproducts.com.

Heavy-duty steel shelving in two gauges

Ideal for industrial and commercial storage and organization, a complete line of heavy-duty 18- and 20-gauge open-clip steel shelving is available in four heights and 15 shelf sizes. A starter kit includes four offset posts, one pair of back sway braces, two pair of side sway braces and selected numbers of shelves with corresponding hardware. Shelves are triple bent on all four sides. The product line includes accessories plus layout and design assistance. Quantum Storage Systems, 800-685-4665, www.quantumstorage.com.

Water 25 batteries at a time

Operating at lower water pressures, the Stealth Float battery watering system is ideal for installations of 5 to 25 batteries. It makes multiple float sizes unnecessary by incorporating a one-size-fits-all design that fills all battery cells to the same level simultaneously. Push-fit tubing is kink and crush resistant, and connections install quickly. A highly visible fill-level indicator can be seen from the top and side of the battery, so an operator knows instantly when water is required. The low-profile system is 0.60 inches high and operates with water pressure ranging from 3 to 60 psi. Philadelphia Scientific, 215-616-0390, www.phlsci.com.

RFID reader

The high-performance IF30 network RFID reader is for RFID tags in a high-speed, multiple reader noisy RF environment. Tags can be read when traveling on conveyors to 1,600 feet per minute and from distances up to 15 feet. The reader's increased receive sensitivity allows it to interrogate weaker or otherwise unreadable tags, reducing the need for exceptions handling and slower supply chain throughput. Features include a built-in power supply, and powered general purpose input/output circuitry for direct monitoring and controlling of peripherals. Intermec, 800-347-2636, www.intermec.com.

Work platform supports multiple people

With a 63-inch high safety-screen back and a slip resistant deck, a multi-person work platform is constructed from one piece of heavy gauge sheet for extra strength. For additional safety, a pin lock is built into the hinge gate. The unit includes 29-inch-on-center fork channels with full length tube openings measuring 7 x 2.75 inches. Additional safety pins are located behind each fork, while heavy duty chains are welded to the back frame of the platform to secure the carriage sides. The 40-inch wide platforms meet or exceed OSHA safety guidelines, and are available in three lengths: 72, 96 and 120 inches. Jesco Industries, 888-463-1242, www.JescoOnline.com.
