Focus on ergonomics

Pneumatic load leveler improves ergonomics

For building or breaking down pallet loads with minimal exertion, the PalletPal pneumatic load leveler automatically adjusts the height of pallets as boxes are added or removed. Height adjustments are made via a combined reinforced rubber airbag and spring. It handles load weights ranging from 400 to 4,500 pounds without electrical power. Features include a large turntable with anti-friction bearings, an extra-wide base and fork pockets for relocating the unit. Southworth Products, 207-878-0700, www.southworthproducts.com.

Self-leveling lift table keeps loads at one working height

With an automatic self-leveler to keep the top of the load at a convenient working height, the EZ Loader lift table eliminates bending to improve productivity. The unit raises and lowers pallets with an infinitely adjustable captive air operation for controlled platform movement of loads by adding or bleeding air. Protected pressure gauge and air valves are easily accessible and indicate pressure in both English and metric scales. An integral 43-inch diameter rotator ring, secured with a ball bearing center pivot, reduces worker reaching and stretching. Heavy-duty structural steel construction and phosphatized, powder coated surfaces ensure long life. The unit may be transported via lift truck or with optional portability packages. Bishamon Industries, 800-358-8833, www.bishamon.com.

Air-operated lift-and-tilt table

To accommodate different worker heights, the completely air-operated lift and tilt table offers a low profile of 8.25 inches. Standard travel is 25 inches, with optional travel heights reaching 75 inches. The stand-alone module is equipped with dual dampening struts to eliminate uncontrolled movement. Sturdy construction handles load slamming and lift truck abuse. A continuous hinge provides stability and prevents pinch points. Handling up to 5,000 pounds, the table incorporates air bag technology for a direct one-to-one lift ratio without mechanical linkage to lift the load, minimizing wear and maintenance. Narrow mast work positioner

For maximum visibility in stockrooms and assembly areas, the Lift Stik lifter incorporates a narrow, single-mast design. The positioner is available with platform or fork design in four models with load capacities ranging from 185 to 445 pounds. Maximum lift heights of the platform or forks range from 52 to 65 inches. It evenly distributes a load over four oversized casters able to roll over thresholds and uneven floors. Lift is achieved by a powered, continuous chain operated by a handheld, push-button remote that allows the operator to raise or lower the platform from any side of the unit. A centrally mounted battery-charge indicator is located on the push handle. To prevent overcharging, an auto-cutoff function is included. Adjustable, contoured sponge grip handles accommodate operators of different heights. Presto Lifts, 800-343-9322, www.prestolifts.com.

Lift table warranted for 1 million cycles

For automated machine feeding or off-loading applications that quickly accumulate cycles, the One Million Cycle lift table offers 18 and 31 inches of travel in two capacities: 2,500 and 4,000 pounds. Warranted for 1 million cycles, the table features a clean and simple design. A lubricated, filled slide generates smooth operation throughout the entire travel range. Platform sizes range from 36 x 36 inches to 48 x 60 inches. Advance Lifts, 800-843-3625, www.advancelifts.com.

Three-axis work positioner

The Ergo Master manual three-axis ergonomic work positioner adjusts work to a range of positions. Height, tilt and rotation angles are independently adjustable and lock in place for safety. Two independent foot pedal controls operate the unit. One pedal adjusts height, the other adjusts the tilt angle and rotates. Three workload capacities are available: 50, 150 and 300 pounds. Ergotech, 203-790-4100, www.ergotechinc.com.

High-capacity hydraulic tables

A range of large, high-capacity hydraulic lift tables, scissor lifts and work platforms featuring all-welded steel construction are compliant with AWS D1.1 and ANSI MH29.1 standards. Structural members—including frames, scissors arms, push blocks and roller channels—are fabricated from high modulus steel for stiffness and strength. To minimize deflection and maintain rigidity, top and bottom channel rollers are captured. A flow control device is attached to the lift cylinders, while a maintenance-locking pin is provided to secure legs in their open position. West Bend Equipment, 800-558-7850, www.westbendequipment.com.

Lift loads to 12,000 pounds

Available with capacities ranging from 1,000 to 12,000 pounds, the model EHLT electric hydraulic scissor lift table positions products at an ergonomic working height to eliminate bending and lifting that cause back injuries. Standard safety features include perimeter pinch point toe guards, emergency stop internal brass velocity fuses, 24 volt controls and maintenance safety supports. The OSHA and ANSI compliant tables are offered with a variety of motor voltage and phase options. Custom sizes and configurations may be specified, while 10 models offering different platform sizes and capacities of 3,000 or 4,000 pounds are stocked for quick shipment within 48 hours.
