Kion hints at U.S expansion plans

The Kion Group--owner of the Linde, Still and OM lift truck brands--seems to be making plans to increase its U.S. market share.

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 10/1/2007

The Kion Group—owner of the Linde, Still and OM lift truck brands—seems to be making plans to increase its U.S. market share.

In a routine earnings statement issued from German headquarters last week, Kion called its current position in the U.S. market “insignificant,” and then followed up with this statement: “Kion is preparing a market offensive for the coming year, with a new U.S.-specific product line, which will set new standards of reliability and quality in the U.S. market.”

Kion representatives in Germany and the United States declined to elaborate further on the plans.
