RFID technology, unitizing and materials handling safety are the topics of the educational articles and white papers that have won this year’s Outstanding Material Handling & Logistics Content Awards. The awards are given every other year by the College Industry Council on Material Handling Education to honor those who create content that makes a strong contribution to the materials handling industry.
This year’s first-place award went to system supplier FKI Logistex and its public relations agency, Koroberi, for the white paper “RFID for the Real World.” The 16-page document gives basic information about how radio frequency identification works and ideas for implementing it in warehouse settings. It also shares some lessons FKI has learned while designing and implementing RFID systems.
The second-place award went to Modern for our article, “Unitizing Basics.” The article provides an overview of different palletizing and stretch wrapping equipment and is part of our monthly series of “equipment buying guide” articles.
Third place was awarded to systems integrator Cisco-Eagle for “15 Ways Material Handling Can Make Your Operation Safer.” The four-page document provides every-day safety tips for materials handling operations.
